A hammam towel (also known as a pestemal) is a generously cut, flat-woven cotton towel with high absorbency and a quick-drying effect. Originally from the traditional Turkish steam bath, it is now also extremely popular as a hammam sauna towel or hammam bath towel. Due to their light weave and quick drying, it is not surprising that many sauna lovers prefer hammam towels as a sauna towel and see them as an integral part of their wellness bag. Thanks to their skin-friendly cotton structure, a hammam towel can be used to accompany sauna or red light lamp sessions just as pleasantly as rest periods. They can also be used in the spa, of course in the hammam or steam bath or as a shoulder towel, making them ideal for any wellness treatment.
Due to the special weave, a hammam towel is thinner than conventional towels or terry towels and is therefore pleasantly airy and dries more quickly. Another advantage is that hammam towels do not become uncomfortably heavy or stick to the skin after the sauna. Anyone who likes to move freely and carefree in the sauna or simply prefers a space-saving towel is therefore always well advised to use easy-to-wear hammam towels.
And at 100 cm × 180 cm, each hammam towel is large enough to stretch out comfortably on or use as a shoulder towel. And thanks to its light weight, it also fits in any bag. When you buy a hammam towel, you naturally want to enjoy it for a long time, which is why we use cotton as the natural base material for every hammam towel. Ideally, a hammam towel or -Sauna towel can therefore be washed at 40 °C on a gentle cycle. Please refrain from using fabric softener, however, as this can impair the absorbency of the hammam towels. Once dried briefly in the dryer at a low temperature or on the line, the fabric remains soft and retains its shape. By the way: If you soak the towel before using it for the first time, it becomes even more absorbent.
